WASHINGTON, D.C. — For the 10th consecutive year, Samsung has launched the annual Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Contest, which challenges sixth- to 12th-grade public school students and teachers to use science, technology, engineering and math — STEM — to address issues in their communities.
RUPERT — A free six-week summer program to help children get ready for kindergarten will take place from 9 to 11:30 a.m. July 2 to Aug. 8, with the exception of July 4. It will meet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the Parish Hall behind St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church at the corner of Sixth and I streets in Rupert.
BOISE — National Teacher Day was celebrated throughout the nation on Tuesday. This recognition is an integral part of Teacher Appreciation Week, which runs May 7-11. It is co-sponsored by the National Education Association and the National Parent Teacher Association.
HAILEY — The Blaine County School District invites community members to become an “Educator for a Day” on Feb. 23. The registration deadline is Feb. 15. This event presents an opportunity to find out what it’s like to be a teacher, support professional or principal. It provides the public an inside look at Blaine County schools, classrooms and the professional lives of educators.
