Latino students in 11 Idaho schools were so dramatically behind their peers last year that state education officials demanded plans for change, but most of the school improvement plans don’t entirely address a set of federal standards.

Month-long walking challenge scores mayors project funds

Mayors from all around Idaho have spent the month of October participating in a walking challenge, and sharing the importance of exercise.

Of the 77 mayors who tackled the challenge, nine were from the Magic Valley.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — For the 10th consecutive year, Samsung has launched the annual Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Contest, which challenges sixth- to 12th-grade public school students and teachers to use science, technology, engineering and math — STEM — to address issues in their communities.

Carnival to support Dworshak Elementary

BURLEY — The Dworshak Elementary School PTO will hold its Fall Carnival from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Goode Motor Ford, 1096 E. Main St., Burley. The goal is to raise money for new playground equipment at the school.
